Our history
The African child Agape Foundation (ACAF) has been founded by Pastor Innocent HANKANIMANA and Mrs. Caroline Felix in December 2017 with the support from well-wishers, Malawians and refugees.
Pastor Innocent HANKANIMANA has been refugee for 23 years in Malawi and Tanzania respectively due to political instability in Burundi.
While in refugee camps, he witnessed the horrors and challenges refugees face day to day especially women, old people and children. In September 2011, he lost his sweet wife Flora Mukabera leaving behind two young children.
As an eye witness of the horrors, sorrows and poverty of refugees, he created this organization as platform from which he invite people worldwide to be kind, generous and to be peaceful in order to build a better world for the sake of this generation and generations to come.
When he returned back to his home country Burundi via voluntary repatriation in September 2023, He initiated the same organization under the name of Fondation Agape pour l’Enfant Africain (FAEA) and it is registered officaily in Burundi from 31 January 2024.
